Position available: Small Engine Mechanic

Full-Time

Hours: Monday to Friday

8am to 5pm


Summary

All Seasons Farm Equipment (ASFE) is searching for an experienced Small Engine Technician.

In this position, the right candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the diagnosing and repair of a wide variety of outdoor power equipment.

The right candidate will be required to independently perform basic and complex diagnostic and service repair to include, not limited to the following:

  1. Two cycle and Four-cycle engines
  2. Trimmers, Edgers, Blowers, Chain Saws, Pole Saws, Hedge Trimmers, Commercial and Residential Zero Turn Mowers.
  3. Electromagnetic Power take off systems
  4. Electrical diagnostics
  5. Hydraulic systems (Trans Axels, Hydraulic pumps and Wheel motors)
  6. Powertrain (differentials/transmissions/gear boxes/drive shafts)
  7. Electronic Service tool diagnostics for EFI four cycle engines (ECM’s/ECU’s/sensors)

The Service Tech will report directly to the Service Manager and adhere to ASFE Parts and Service Procedure as well as core values of integrity, communication, safety, employee development and accountability.

Duties and Tasks

  • Recondition and repair of outdoor power equipment
  • Perform diagnostic inspections as directed
  • All inspections are to be completed with cause of failure identified
  • Makes certain that work assignment is correct and must ask for clarification if there are questions
  • Recondition and repair of equipment and components
  • Plan methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned
  • Order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs
  • Effect the repairs required in a safe and effective manner
  • Ensure that all repairs are completed as assigned
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the customer's equipment upon completion as required
  • Ensure all parts and materials not used are returned per guidelines
  • Maintain the work area in a clean and safe condition
  • Problem solving and trouble-shooting
  • Performs setup or pre-delivery inspections on new or used equipment as directed by the manufacturer's manual
  • Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies and outside purchases during repairs         
    • All record keeping methods are followed as per ASFE Parts and Service Procedure
    • Ensure that all record kept are legible and in compliance with ASFE Parts and Service Procedure
  • Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment and vehicles
    • All tools and special equipment used on repairs are to be cleaned before their return
    • All specialty tools used on any repair is to be returned to the original location and in good working condition
  • Responsible for checking of e-mail correspondence and associated attachment Read and intrepid operating/maintenance and procedure manuals
  • Apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions

Education

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance and Basic Service Technical certification preferred

Tool Requirements

  • Basic hand, Pneumatic, and electrical diagnostic tools required.
  • Lockable Tool Storage: Three to Seven drawer Rolling Service Cart, or Professional top chest 5 to 10 drawer, or Professional Roll Away Tool Cabinet 5 to 14 drawers

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to lift at least 75ibs repeatedly
  • May be subject to sitting, standing, climbing. grasping, reaching. stooping, crouching

Certifications/Licensures

  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (preferred) Technical School and/or Trade School Certification
